Memento Flori, 2016
A meditation on the shaping of maternal identity, "The Long, The Lovely Drunkenness" envisions an iconography of motherhood that challenges the ubiquitous visual trope of Madonna and child. Employing staged and still-life photography, the project distills the intense experience of new motherhood into a series of photographic haikus using domestic objects and body fragments.
