These photographs are long exposures of places and things that have a particular psychological resonance to me – breeze in the wind, sunlight through the curtain, summers by the pool. These are photographs of moments that trigger involuntary memories – an idle moment from one’s childhood, past happiness, private trauma, secret terrors. Like memory, the images are meant to evoke the familiar while refusing to provide detailed specificity or literal clarity. Intentionally distorted and blurred, these images force viewers to project their own memories and meanings onto them. Any narrative inferred from the images becomes, in essence, an autobiography of the viewer.
